- Casual hourly rate : Teaching rate is $86.49 and the Non-Teaching rate is $66.29
- Semester 1 dates : 20th Jan 2025 – 6th June 2025
- Location : Great office location in Melbourne CBD : Building 85 on 97-99 Franklin Street Melbourne
About the Role : In this position, you will be responsible for the delivery of Materials and Design, including assessment, monitoring academic progress of students, contributing to the development of the FS curriculum, and providing an outstanding student experience.
About You : To be successful in this position you will have :
- Essential :
- Teaching experience in product design and technologies (Art, Design and Technology subject) and one other subject at a senior secondary level or in a Foundation Studies program.
- Experience with 3D design and materials, technical drawing and 3D modelling software.
- A recognised degree relevant to the course being taught plus :
- A formal qualification in the delivery of education AND
- Minimum two years’ relevant teaching experience, including breadth of experience in delivering to students from non-English speaking backgrounds.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in delivering and assessing both in face-to-face and online classes (using a Learning Management System such as Canvas and Microsoft Teams).
- Substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
- Capacity to identify learning problems in students and propose and implement effective strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
- VIT registration or Current Working with Children Clearance.
- Desirable :
- Experience teaching other secondary school subjects.
- Experience teaching international students in a secondary school setting.
- Proven collegiality and the ability to share ideas.
- Knowledge of current pedagogical practices.
