Opportunity Brief: Head of Quality, Health, Safety & Environment

We are trusted by over 100 leading organisations when they seek to make a leadership appointment. We have been retained and appointed by our client on a retained search for a proactive and driven Head of QHSE who will drive health, safety, quality and environmental initiatives.
Challenges expected within the first 12 months include:
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to enable the rollout of a strong QHSE culture.
- Rebuilding and maturing processes in line with business growth to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Streamlining current management systems and addressing identified NCRs.
Key deliverables within the first 12 months include:
- Creating a blueprint for the management system and an internal audit strategy.
- Successful rollout of new and updated policies and procedures with significant buy-in from teams.
- Ensuring all safety actions and NCRs are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
Essential Hard Skills (Skills & Experience):
- Candidates ideally from Rail; high-integrity backgrounds such as aerospace, defence, Automotive etc. will be considered.
- Live within a commutable distance and willing to travel as required.
- Proven experience in leading teams through positive change.
- Holds an IOSH Certification.
- Chartered member of IOSH or working towards it.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- ISO 45001 knowledge of implementation and management.

Working Arrangements & Location:
Main location in Derbyshire, with occasional UK-wide travel.
Interview Process:
- 1st Stage Interview: Face to face with the Interim H&S Consultant.
- Psychometric tests for successful candidates between stages.
- 2nd Final Stage interview: Face to face with the Managing Director and Interim H&S Consultant, including a site tour.
