Minstead Trust is looking for compassionate and motivated Support Workers in Portsmouth to provide high-quality care for individuals with learning disabilities. This role is ideal for honest and approachable individuals who excel at building relationships and have experience in a social care setting.

With both part-time and full-time positions available (18 to 37.5 hours per week), this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. A driving licence is not essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us with working within our friendly and dedicated Supported Living Service located in Portsmouth.

Support Worker Part-Time and Full-Time roles available (ranging from 18 to 37.5 hours per week)

Flexible shifts over a 24/7 week, 365 days a year (Incl. weekends, bank holidays and sleep in shifts on a rota basis)

£11.50 per hour rising to £12.50 per hour subject to skills assessment after 6 months

As a Support Worker, you’ll be engaging directly with those we support, inspiring fun and creativity whilst encouraging independence and allowing individuals to live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities

• To support individuals to meet their goals and outcomes in health, wellbeing and independence.
• Assist individuals with their personal, social and healthcare needs as required whilst maintaining accurate records.
• To work as part of a team as well as lone working within the community as needed.
• Work with allocated individuals as their keyworker.
• Interact and communicate with the people you support in a way that promotes dignity and respect.
• Assisting individuals to attend university and complete education.
• Assisting individuals in completing day-to-day household tasks including cleaning and food shopping.
• Support individuals with everyday tasks as required.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

• Motivated, honest and approachable individuals who are great at building and nurturing relationships.
• Experience of providing high levels of care and support to those with learning disabilities in a social care setting.
• Aspirations to develop skills at support worker level and beyond!
• Flexibility to work shifts 24/7, 365 days a year including weekends and bank holidays as well as sleep in shifts on a rota basis.
• Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care is desirable but training will be provided.
• A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential (in-work travel paid).
