An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional Veterinary Surgeon to join a dedicated Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) team at a well-established veterinary hospital. This role offers the chance to contribute to a seamless 24/7 ECC service, providing high-quality care to patients from a network of local practices.

The Role:

  • This is a dedicated ECC position, structured around a rolling rota of 4 on, 4 off, ensuring an excellent work-life balance.
  • The role is based within a well-equipped veterinary hospital, offering access to a diverse and interesting caseload.
  • They provide out of hours provision for around 40 local practices covering beyond the Cardiff area, meaning that they see a very wide and varied caseload of both medical and surgical cases.
  • Working as part of a large, supportive ECC and first-opinion veterinary team, this position provides a stimulating and rewarding clinical environment.

Hours:

  • Average 35.1-hour working week
  • 4 days on, 4 days off rota (alternating between day and twilight shifts)
  • No sole charge – always supported by a team of ECC vets
  • Fully supported by large teams of RVNs, ACAs and Reception
  • No long night shifts – covered by permanent night vets
  • No on-call requirements
  • Fully supported clinical development, including certificate study
