  • Understand risk management strategy on trading positions and counter-party risk exposure, supporting senior traders in decision making.
  • Work closely with the Grain Commercial Manager/Senior Trader in all your undertakings, ensuring that information is shared.
  • Ensure that all leads and potential options are followed through internally and are referred onto colleagues wherever potential opportunities arise. Make use of our CRM system to store and record accurate customer information.
  • Develop a wider understanding of the other divisions of the Bartholomews Agri Food business, including Fertilizer, Feed, Seed Processing, Agronomy, and Crop Protection.
  • Learn about our additional products and services, for example, our grain storage facility at Shoreham Port, or haulage capabilities through our own haulier, Churchill Freight Services.
About You:

Previous experience of grain trading/buying would be useful for this role, but is not essential.

The ideal candidate would have some agricultural/agri-business background and be looking to advance their career within a progressive grain trading operation.

A portfolio of farm/industry contacts would be advantageous, but not essential.

You must be an excellent communicator with strong verbal, written, and numerical skills. Comfortable with Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, etc.

Able to build relationships within the industry, and within a team with colleagues and customers.

Able to demonstrate sound decision making and aptitude to deliver exceptional customer service.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who can demonstrate, regardless of any previous work experience/positions, their enthusiasm for the role and for the agricultural sector.
