Job description

Quality Inspectors, Fabrication A&P Tyne

We’re launching a new 12 month project that will be both challenging and demanding so we’re looking for more Quality Inspectors to join our team at A&P Tyne.

CSWIP, Structural and NDE (MPI & DPI) Inspectors who can examine our welded components on multiple occasions during the project and then compile reports.

You’ll be inspecting welds for flaws that could compromise the integrity or performance of what we make so that we deliver quality projects to our customers.

Who are A&P Tyne?

With the largest fabrication facilities on the East coast of England, we can build units for vessels, and also joining them together.

Within our 24,000 square metre Fabrication Hall, where your projects will be based, we have a high bay construction hall for our new builds, a panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas.

Using in-house capabilities to maintain tight project control we work closely together with our customers to deliver what they need, as they need it, when they need it.

So what will you do?

  • You’ll work with our Quality Engineers, Welding Coordinators, Project Managers, and Fabrication team to ensure examinations are conducted in line with our plans.
  • Depending on your skillset, you’ll examine our welded components on multiple occasions during the project and then compile reports needed (CSWIP, Structural or NDE, (MPI & DPI)).
  • Conducting inspection of deposited welds, you’ll be verifying compliance to specified requirements.
  • Reviewing reports, you’ll then verify compliance with project requirements.
  • You’ll be maintaining our project-related databases relating to inspections.
  • Completing equipment checks, you’ll stay with A&P procedure.

And what are we looking for?

  • An Inspection qualification that is current and renewed as required.
  • Experience of working with HSEQ and document control.
  • Working knowledge of best practices able to detect surface and subsurface defects in materials without causing damage.
  • A passion to deliver quality projects to your customers.
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • You'll be working shifts, either set days or nights alternatively if it works for you, on a rotation.
