Role Overview:

The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for driving new business and managing existing relationships within the healthcare sector. This is a pure sales role with a heavy focus on business development, requiring a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves a balance of new business development and account management, with territory allocation determined based on the candidate’s experience and existing network.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute a sales strategy to generate new business opportunities.
  2. Engage with key stakeholders in NHS Trusts, including operational managers, Chief Operating Officers, Directors of Operations, and other decision-makers.
  3. Identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities within the existing NHS Trust customer base.
  4. Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, ensuring a consultative sales approach.
  5. Work closely with internal product specialists and solution consultants to deliver effective product demonstrations.
  6. Manage sales pipelines and report on key metrics to senior management.
  7. Collaborate with the partnership team to drive upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends, NHS procurement processes, and competitor activities.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Proven track record in a hunter-style sales role, ideally selling into the healthcare sector.
  2. Experience selling software solutions, health tech, or related services.
  3. Strong knowledge of NHS structures, procurement processes, and decision-making hierarchies.
  4. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare organisations.
  5. Self-motivated, driven, and capable of working autonomously. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  6. Experience working in an SME sales environment is preferred; candidates from larger enterprises must demonstrate a strong network and direct sales ability.
