Are you a flexible and passionate teacher looking for a new role from April 2025?

GSL Education are working with a school based in central Plymouth who are seeking a KS1 Primary Teacher to join their team after Easter on a long-term contract with the idea of going permanent.

Role Overview

As a KS1 Primary Teacher, you’ll cover classes as needed, ensuring a smooth continuation of lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You’ll bring enthusiasm, adaptability, and an ability to connect with students quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver Pre-Planned Lessons: Confidently carry out lesson plans left by permanent staff, adapting as needed to meet student needs.
2. Maintain Classroom Management: Foster a positive, structured classroom environment, using effective behaviour management strategies to keep students engaged and on track.
3. Assess and Support Students: Provide encouragement, monitor progress as required, and assist students in understanding lesson content.
4. Work Across Different Schools: Embrace the opportunity to work in a variety of schools in Poole, gaining experience across year groups and subjects.

What We’re Looking For

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/PGCE): A recognised teaching qualification is required.
2. Flexibility & Adaptability: A positive, flexible approach is essential for adapting to different school environments and year groups.
3. Classroom Management Skills: Confidence in managing classrooms and promoting a respectful learning atmosphere.
4. Driving Licence (Beneficial): Having a driving licence is advantageous for travel between schools in the Poole area.
