Our valued client is a leading electrical training provider based in Birmingham. They currently train over 600 electrical apprentices working with 250 local and national electrical contractors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an additional Electrical Training Officer/ Assessor to their team. Graded GOOD by Ofsted at their last inspection, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality industry-relevant training to the next generation of electricians. Are you looking for a change of career, mentoring, and guiding the next generation of electricians? Do you wish to give back but still want to work closely with electricians and employers to guide apprentices' training?
Our Training Officers play an integral part in the apprenticeship delivery, working with apprentices to complete their NVQ Portfolio, assessing evidence, and reviewing them regularly. You will act as a mentor and main point of contact for a cohort of apprentices. The role requires candidates to work from our Birmingham Centre, but due to the changing nature of the electrical industry, local and national traveling are required to review and assess apprentices across the UK. Successful candidates will support apprentices in collecting evidence for their portfolio, assessing evidence, and working closely with employers to provide training and support to apprentices.
Working Hours are 8.00am - 4.30 Mon-Thurs, 8.00am - 4.00 on Friday with ½ lunch. Due to the flexible nature of the electrical contracting industry, successful candidates will need to work with employers to find suitable times to assess and review their apprentices; this may mean taking a flexible approach to working, such as working early mornings, late evenings, or nights if required.
Safeguarding Children and Young people is at the heart of what we do, as the role requires candidates to work with young people 16+. It is a requirement that candidates undertake an Enhanced DBS Check and can provide 2 satisfactory references on commencement of employment. We also require candidates to provide proof of the right to work in the UK (Passport, Birth Certificate or Visa).
