Job description
Maintenance Fitter | Central Scotland | Permanent | £33k - £36k
We’re looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our client’s mobile team, covering sites across Central Scotland. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of essential processing plants and equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to keep plant operations running efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain plant condition and performance, identifying potential issues before they impact production.
- Carry out breakdown repairs and support the Engineering Manager in achieving key performance targets.
- Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, crushing, screening, and conveying systems to optimise equipment performance.
- Maintain high safety standards, following site-specific procedures and best practices.
- This role operates on a dayshift/backshift rotation (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, Friday backshift until 9pm) with one in five weekends required for overtime cover.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong mechanical maintenance experience, ideally within an industrial or heavy plant environment.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and crushing/screening systems.
- Ability to fault-find, diagnose issues, and take corrective action.
- Basic report-writing skills and competence with PC-based systems.
- Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
