Mechanical Maintenance Fitter – RAF Menwith Hill

Location: RAF Menwith Hill, Harrogate, HG3 2RF

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (Early Finish on Fridays)

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

The Role

Seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client’s Operations & Maintenance team at RAF Menwith Hill. This is a hands-on role involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of critical mechanical systems such as boilers, cooling towers, generators, pumps, and compressed air systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fault-finding, calibration, and testing of plant equipment to ensure optimal performance.
2. Maintenance of the water treatment plant for cooling towers.
3. Inspecting and reassembling boilers and air receivers.
4. Supporting the wider team with mechanical maintenance tasks across the site.

What We’re Looking For

1. NVQ Level 3 qualification or recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering.
2. Three or more years’ experience in mechanical maintenance.
3. Emergency First Aid at Work certification (preferred).
4. Experience with large generator sets and controls (advantageous).
5. Knowledge of CMMS systems for maintenance management (desirable).
6. IT literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.

Security Clearance Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be a UK or US national and capable of obtaining DV Enhanced Security Clearance.
