Job description

CNC Operator/Programmer

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £29,000

Salary & Benefits:

  • A starting salary of up to £29,000

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Salvagnini CNC machine to cut and form steel door skins
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders to determine machine settings
  • Adjust machine parameters to achieve precision cutting and shaping according to specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Conduct quality inspections to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with manufacturing standards
  • Troubleshoot minor issues with the machine and escalate complex problems to the maintenance team
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following health and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve efficiency and workflow
  • Keep accurate records of production output and machine performance
  • Adhere to all Company policies

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 7 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • A recognised time-served apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, along with either NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience operating CNC machines, preferably in a metal fabrication environment
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and machine setup (experience with Salvagnini machines is an advantage)
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing setting
