An exciting opportunity hasarisen for a Dispenser to join Beacon Medical group, based at our Wotter Branchdispensary.
The Role is 16 hours per weekon a Monday and Thursday. Monday& Thursday will be 8am -4.30pm6.5hrs each day are core open hours 8am-3pm with 1.5hours Audit andordering work lone working on site.
This successfulapplicant must hold relevant dispensing qualification to NVQ2 or equivalentlevel . The suitable candidate must also be driven and able to work on theirown. The role is to dispense medication safely to all our Wotter basedpatients, ensure that drugs and medicines are prepared efficiently and safely.Alongside this the candidate will provide assistance to the practice pharmacyteam conducting clinical audits and support with medication related projects.
The role also works to ensure good stock control withsensible ordering with a twice a year stock take. The role works alongside thewider practice to ensure personal administered items are stocked to a suitablelevel.

The role is toproject a positive and friendly image to dispensary patients and other visitorsand deal with queries in a professional, courteous, and efficient way. To prepare and dispense prescriptions andmiscellaneous over-the-counter medicines/appliances and assist with stockcontrol, ordering and re-stocking of the dispensary. Provide effective adviceto patients relating to medications, lifestyle, and ailments within the scopeof your capability. Be responsible for your own continuingself-development, undertaking training as appropriate.

Undertake in line with the roleand as delegated by one of the practice pharmacists to conduct clinical audits.
Take a lead role in the deliveryof DSQS in line with specification to achieve requirements and payment.
Provide assistance to theclinical team on medication related projects.

Handing outprescriptions and collecting charges when appropriate
Ensuring thatcorrect and up to date fees for prescription cost are displayed and accurateaccording to current legislation.

Orderingappropriate quantities of goods via the wholesalers computer link
To maintaincost effective supply supplies of drugs that are purchased from the wholesaler.
Checkinggoods as and when they are delivered against invoices.
Returningincorrect goods to the wholesalers within agreed time limits
Ensuring that drugs are receivedand stored in an appropriate manner in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
Ensuring that refrigerated itemsare stored at the appropriate temperature and maintaining the temperaturecontrol logbook.
Removing outof date stock from the shelves, refrigerators and other storage areas anddestroying them appropriately and record out of date medications quarterly.
To devise and explain to eachdispenser the mechanisms for ordering from the wholesaler.
Disposal ofreturned unused medicines in line with BMG Policy and guidelines.
Arrange andrecord Controlled Drug destruction from stock.
Finance
Responsiblefor ordering personally administered items across all sites includingmiscellaneous items and equipment.
Supportingthe Dispensary co-ordinator with the managing of personal administered itemsensuring stock levels are suitable and financially viable.
Recording allPersonally Administered items for VAT
To ensuremaximum profit is maintained and losses are kept to a minimum.

Correct useof Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Use andmonitoring of the correct use of standard operating procedures.
Identifyingthe risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a waythat manages those risks across clinical and patient process.
Monitoringpractice facilities and equipment in relation to infection control, ensuringthat provision of hand cleansing facilities, wipes etc are sufficient to ensurea good clinical working environment.
Maintain a record for checking equipment maintenance and monitoring,liaising with appropriate staff as necessary.
To ensure that drug safety alerts are acted upon and co-ordinate with thepharmacy team to record them.
Ensure building security- have a thorough knowledge of doors, windows, and alarm.
