Hays Travel is seeking a talented Developer or Senior Developer with expertise in .NET and Umbraco to join our innovative Technology Team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the digital experiences of our customers. You'll collaborate with our team to craft exceptional web-based applications that enhance customer journeys in the travel sector.

As a senior member of the team, you'll also have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior developers, fostering their growth and contributing to the overall success of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Build the Future: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces for Hays Travel's websites and digital platforms.
2. Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep knowledge of .NET and Umbraco to build robust and scalable web applications.
3. Streamlined Delivery: Implement and manage efficient CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, ensuring seamless deployments.
4. Collaborative Spirit: Work closely with designers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
5. Performance-Driven: Optimize applications for speed, efficiency, and cross-browser compatibility.
6. Quality Assurance: Thoroughly test code to ensure a high-quality user experience. Write and maintain unit and integration tests.
7. Security-Minded: Adhere to best practices for information security to protect sensitive customer data.
8. Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development, .NET, Umbraco, CI/CD pipelines, and information security.
9. Mentorship: Guide and support junior and less experienced developers, sharing your knowledge and fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

1. Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience as a developer using .NET and Umbraco. For Senior Developer consideration, a more extensive track record is desired.
2. Core Skills: In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap.
3. .NET & Umbraco Mastery: Demonstrated proficiency in developing web applications using .NET and Umbraco CMS.
4. CI/CD Expertise: Experience in setting up and managing deployment pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps.
5. Security Awareness: Understanding of information security principles and best practices for web development.
6. Problem-Solving Prowess: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Leadership (Senior Developer): Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other developers.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Front-End Frameworks: Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
2. API Integration: Experience in integrating with RESTful APIs.
3. Laravel Experience: Familiarity with the Laravel PHP framework.
4. Security Certifications: Certifications related to information security (e.g., CISSP, CEH).

Location and Flexibility:

Ideally, you'll be available to work from our Sunderland office at least 3 days a week. We offer flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
