Are you looking to work in an intervention led service to promote recovery in mental health? We are looking for Mental Health Nurses to be aligned to one of our 6 pathways of care which deliver intervention-based care for people with serious mental illness.

West Kent MHT+ is a diverse multi-cultural team that is looking to recruit a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse. The successful applicant is to work within the team, providing specialist mental health care for people with multiple and complex needs by offering interventions that promote recovery.

If you are interested in developing your skills and delivering clinical care for people with complex emotional difficulties, depression, psychosis and other mental health presentations we are the team for you.

Full training and support will be provided to ensure that you have the skills and confidence to deliver.

1. To act as a Practice Assessor.
2. To adhere to the NMC registration and revalidation requirements.
3. To adhere to KMPTs policies, procedures and guidelines.
4. To support and behave in a way that upholds KMPT Trust values.
5. To assess, act on and report any safeguarding concerns.
6. To optimise health and wellbeing; promoting self-care where possible, helping people to make choices about their needs and involve their carers where appropriate.
7. You may be required to manage, administer medications and monitor their effects.
8. You may be required to carry out specific duties relevant to the setting of community care depot and clozapine clinics.
9. To provide interventions to promote recovery.
10. To assess risk and identify client’s needs.
11. To join work with other agencies involved in the client’s care.
12. Recording and reporting accurately any changes related to the patient’s current behaviour and risks using red board meetings daily or to team managers.
13. Recording care given in a timely manner as per professional and local standards using approved KMPT systems.
14. To supervise a range of other staff and their activities as delegated.
15. Acting as a role model and supporting new team members through demonstration and explanation of tasks and techniques.
16. Undertake and maintain all essential training to role.
