We are seeking two dedicated and passionate Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurses to join our Outpatient department to deliver high quality care to our patients.
This is a part-time vacancy (30 hours per week), which offers flexible working hours. The general working hours are between 07:30 – 18:00, Monday to Friday.
In this role, you will serve as both a clinical and managerial resource, providing professional leadership and supporting the development, maintenance, and audit of care standards for Outpatient nurses and Healthcare Assistants. You will work closely with the Matron and senior management team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care while contributing to the future transformation of the department. Additionally, you will lead on clinical governance, overseeing medicines management and ensuring adherence to infection control policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Your main responsibilities will include:
The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (NMC) with a commitment to delivering high-quality care and promoting excellence to improve patient outcomes. Outpatient experience is desirable, along with the ability to work effectively in an outpatient setting, delivering safe and high-standard clinical care. The candidate should use evidence-based practice to drive improvements, enhance efficiency, and seek out innovation while actively developing themselves and others. They should demonstrate experience in supervising both trained and untrained staff, a commitment to teaching and knowledge-sharing, and confidence in making management decisions. Strong computer literacy and engagement with patient electronic records are essential, as well as evidence of professional development and awareness of current issues in outpatient nursing.
While not essential, it is desirable for the candidate to have at least two years of experience in an outpatient or related area, clinical supervision experience, audit or research involvement, and a vision for fostering a team-based approach.
