Role: Project Manager

Location: Sheffield

Job Description

Department - Colleague & Collaboration, CTO. In this role, you will:

  1. Provide direct oversight of the programme(s)/project(s) financial and outcome accountability, reporting to a Portfolio Manager within CTO.
  2. Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders within IT, Global Businesses, and Finance.
  3. Work closely with their respective Portfolio Manager and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment of their project/programme with the wider change portfolio and group strategy, values, and behaviour.
  4. Provide board level overview of progress, lead and direct multidisciplinary teams across all global businesses, global functions, and regions.
  5. Lead end-to-end execution and responsibility for all aspects of the project/programme, including definition, planning, execution & implementation, governance & control, financial, resource, and change management.
  6. Provide financial analysis, including being able to contextualize financial data into business activities and conclusions.
  7. Ensure adherence to financial processes and procedures at project/programme level, as set and communicated by HSBC Group, regulators, and CTO PPM Practice.
  8. Own the identification and escalation of any budgetary related risks, issues, and opportunities to portfolio/function as appropriate.
  9. Have responsibility for effective handover of the project/programme into Business-as-Usual operations to support effective benefits realization.
  10. Have responsibility for deploying the Business Transformation Frameworks and respective methodologies within their Programme/Project and instilling good programme/project disciplines within their project and wider team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  1. 15+ years of relevant IT experience, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in project and programme management.
  2. Excellent understanding and proven experience of Programme and Project Management methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
  3. Ability to direct and influence people in a matrix-oriented environment and establish working partnerships at junior and senior organizational levels.
  4. Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Executives across the business.
  5. Outstanding relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  6. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group.
  7. Change agent with proven ability of implementing large scale organizational, procedural, technology, and people-related change programmes.
  8. Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to recognize the global remit of this role.
  9. Expert knowledge of managing and steering technical blockers for the project/programme.
  10. Strong financial analytical background and proven ability in financial/analytical reasoning, including being able to contextualize financial data into business activities and conclusions.
  11. Experience of delivering large scale change programmes within a Technology organization, with Infrastructure experience.
  12. High level of drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously across HSBC.
  13. Experience of leading and managing teams with a proven track record of working with diverse, cross-functional teams that are located regionally and worldwide.
  14. Experience of driving continuous improvement.
  15. Prior experience working in End user services and Infrastructure Projects.
  16. Should have managed end-to-end project ~$5m.
  17. Technology exposure and experience in (optional – good to have):
  18. Landing Zones: Private and Public Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure & Ali).
  19. Collaboration: Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.
  20. Hardware: Cisco, HP, Dell, IBM, Lenovo.
  21. Operations: Aternity, SCOM, AppDynamics, Microsoft Intune.
  22. Software Management: Ansible, JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, Confluence.
  23. Others: ESX, vCenter, Citrix, VDI & VDA.
