Personal Care Assistant 17 hr/wk @ £12.50/hr in Tamworth - FTE - £24.4k - Tamworth - B77
We are looking for an experienced Care / Support worker to join our team of Personal Assistants supporting one of our clients in the Tamworth area. The role will be varied, but you will be supporting our client who has a Learning Disability and Cerebral Palsy to lead an individual and independent lifestyle within their own home and community. Our client has a range of interests and enjoys getting out and about regularly, attending day centres, travelling on public transport, swimming, and shopping. There are also two dogs in the family home.
You will be working as part of a small team on a 2:1 basis.
Your contracted hours will be: An average of 17 hours per week (a total of 68 hours over a 4 week period). The majority of the shifts will be day shifts (9am start); however, there will also be 1 x evening shift each Wednesday to support our client to attend a local disco (7:30pm-9:30pm). The role will also include working 3 Saturdays out of 4.

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training, and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis to keep your knowledge and skills current.

Due to the nature of a personal caring role and working in an individual’s home, sometimes alongside family members, Personal Assistants may be required to deal with difficult situations and/or challenging behaviour on occasions, which should be approached in a calm and professional manner.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check. You must also have eligibility to work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship.
