Technip Energies and their partners (Consortium partner and Construction partner) have been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the world’s first commercial scale gas-fired power stations with carbon capture. The construction site is located in Teesside Valley in the North East of England.

We are seeking a Local Content Manager to be responsible for managing and coordinating the various aspects of the project’s Local Content (Employment, training, procurement and local community engagement). You will lead the Local Content reporting as per the contractual requirements (content and timeline) and ensure that the consortium meets the local content target set by the client. The main objective will be to build and implement the local content plan in consultation with the consortium’s partners.

Job Scope



Your mission

  1. Build the local content plan with the support of the consortium partners
  2. List the activities and the related targets within the predefined project timeline. This includes:
  • What is the employment plan (incl. job creation, number and nature of the job, participation of the local workforce)
  • What are the required skills and training programs?
  • What is the intended procurement mapping and what suppliers are based in the UK? For those UK suppliers, how much do the consortium intend to spend in the UK?
  • What is the local community engagement plan (schools & universities links, minorities)?
  • How to communicate both locally and at a country level about the project milestones and technologies, job offering, supply and subcontracting opportunities, and local content engagements of the project.
  • What are the locally sourced technologies?
  • Agree the local content plan with the Project Directorate, and the client, with support and input from project Partners
  • Identify the key individuals for each organization who will be responsible for each element of the Local Content Plan (Procurement, P&C, Social impact manager)
  • Develop the process and communication protocols to collect the information required to report to the client
  • Build the reporting content and format in line with the client’s requirements, including, but not limited to:
    • Local content’s calculation
    • Ensure that any information reported to the client is evidenced and stored.
    • Schedule the reporting period and meetings
  • Clarify the required audit scope, prepare and map the requested information in a structured way.

  • Implement the local content plan

    1. Be the point of contact between our partners and the client to guarantee a smooth coordination of the various stakeholders
    2. Prepare and set up the weekly communication call with the project’s partners with a clear agenda: objectives, action plan and timeline
    3. Collect the required local content information in due time: check with the documentation provided and store it
    4. Prepare the reporting pack as per the client’s requirement and timeline
    5. Before submission and discussion with the client, go through the consortium’s approval process.
    6. After the approval of the Project Director, share the reporting pack and respond to any clarifications requirement with the support needed from other stakeholders
    7. Keep the register of all non-conformances and associated corrective actions up to date
    8. Plan the Local Content Plan annual review and revalidation process

    Your main objectives

    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness and the evidence of Local content information and data.
    • Ensure the quality of the reporting process and content provided to the client
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination with the various stakeholders to meet deadlines and Local Content targets as per the contractual arrangements.

    The team


    • You will report to the Project Directorate, with a functional reporting to the Technip Energies’ UKOC Management Team.
    • You will work in close collaboration with the Communication and Public Relations Manager dedicated to the NZT Power project.

    Requirements


    • Experienced profile in project management (5-8 years of relevant work experience)
    • Ability to quickly immerse yourself in sometimes technical and complex subjects and organisations.
    • Team worker and ability to work with diverse personalities and cultures
    • Communications knowledge/experience
    • English writing skills

    The role will be based in the Northeast of England, preferably in Teesside, at the heart of the construction site, mobility required.
