The IQVIA Real World Methods and Evidence Generation (RW MEG) team includes around 80 highly qualified multi-disciplinary professionals in a variety of health economics, statistics, life sciences and epidemiology-related disciplines based in 12 geographies and has delivered projects covering over 50 countries. Our Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA) HQ is situated next to Paddington station in London.

Our clients operate in the life sciences industry, including global top 20 pharmaceutical companies, medical device and biotech companies, as well as public health providers and regulatory authorities. They are looking for insight and evidence around the safety, efficacy, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of health care delivery systems, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products spanning the full spectrum of therapeutic and disease areas. Role Overview

The demand for IQVIA’s health technology assessment (HTA) offerings has seen dramatic increases and will continue to expand in response to the evolving HTA processes in the EMEA region. We would like to add to the team an (Associate) Director role dedicated to serving our clients responsible for successful reimbursement of innovation in the UK market. The role of the UK HTA (Associate) Director is a leadership role within the EMEA RW MEG team and is expected to play an important role in shaping the team’s UK health economics and HTA offerings. There will also be opportunities to expand your portfolio into other areas, if desired. The role is UK-based with flexibility regarding location and frequency of office and home working.

As part of the broader team you will:

1. Take ownership of UK client relationships, lead proposals and business development activities to secure projects from UK clients to support their local HTA needs, i.e., NICE and SMC submissions
2. Take responsibility for revenue targets for UK health economics and HTA offerings
3. Lead the project delivery teams as Principal-in-Charge (PIC), ensuring UK HTA projects are completed on time, to the appropriate quality, on budget, and at the expected profit margins
4. Contribute to team building including interviewing, mentoring and training juniors, and activities to motivate and retain staff
5. Line manage a team/number of individuals developing their professional career as health economists and HTA experts and foster their career development
6. Provide technical health economic and HTA input and strategic guidance across the UK Real World business areas and the full breadth of therapeutic areas
7. Provide technical training sessions on UK HTA requirements and advancements, coach and mentor junior and senior team members
8. Represent IQVIA in public through participation in conferences and symposiums
9. Promote and advance the internal and external team profile through contributions to thought leadership, methods development/application and academic collaborations
10. Lead collaborations with other business areas and functions of the organisation to deliver client services and drive the development of new offerings

Qualifications and skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate all of the below:

1. MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics or related discipline
2. 10+ years of experience in designing and executing health economic studies and leading clients through UK HTA processes
3. Experience working at management level with responsibility for leading business initiatives and teams
4. Deep knowledge of UK HTA requirements and approaches in health economics
5. Expert understanding of the use of health economics and modelling for HTA
6. Already have an established network of contacts in the UK’s pharmaceutical industry, academia and/or HTA bodies
7. Strong consulting and client engagement skills
8. Proven ability to lead teams and to build and manage relationships in a multi-cultural environment
9. History of successful project management, including client negotiations, contracting experience and scope management
10. Prior experience working in a consultancy, CRO or life sciences company
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills with fluency in English
