What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Senior II Radiographer Rotational CT to join our Imaging Team, with a competitive salary range on offer. This is a full time role working between 8:00am to 20:00pm including weekend, overtime and on-call shifts. This role could potentially have a 24-hour service in the near future.

What will your duties include?

1. Undertake basic patient observations.
2. Monitors, evaluates and reports status of the departmental operations. Acts as a liaison internally and externally.
3. Professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of own practice, working within national legislation, departmental and hospital wide policy, Code of Conduct and professional guidelines ensuring delivery of imaging services emulates "best practices".
4. Maintains a work environment that fosters quality care delivery, accountability and employee satisfaction.
5. Assist with ongoing development of clinical practice and standards of care within the service, including assisting the modality leads in development of policies, procedures protocols, guidelines and audits.
6. Provides direct patient care in specialty areas. Flexible approach to working hours, prepared to participate fully in shifts, extended working days and on–call working rotation and schedules as may be required.
7. Undertake relevant training and competency assessments, strictly adhering to agreed protocols and procedures.
8. To supply medicines using Patient Group Directions, without compromising patient safety. This involves ascertaining the patient’s suitability for drugs and taking joint responsibility for the potential complications under the indirect supervision of radiologists.
9. To be aware of the clinical hazards and emergencies that such drugs can induce.
10. Adheres to appropriate Health & Safety guidelines and regulations.
11. Ensures Care Quality Commission regulations related to Imaging are adhered to.
12. Use good radiographic techniques and modify as clinically appropriate.
13. Have the technical ability to manipulate a range of equipment, whilst maintaining patient comfort and adequately communicate with patients and colleagues to ensure the safe movement of patients into imaging position.
14. Use appropriate touch techniques to locate external bony landmarks.

What we need from you?

1. Current valid Healthcare Professional Council (HCPC) registration required.
2. Trained to cannulate and administer contrast agents required.
3. Minimally a BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent required.
4. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work autonomously.
5. Requires high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a computer.
6. Manage time and resources and prioritise workload according to clinical needs.
7. Build and sustain professional relationships and work independently, as part of the imaging team, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
8. Knowledge of the process for escalation of unexpected findings identified on images to ensure optimum patient care.
9. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
10. Excellent oral and written communication, organisational and time management skills.
11. Well-developed Diagnostic Radiology knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience working towards or with a desire to work towards post graduate qualifications.
12. Relevant personal history of continuing professional development.
13. Understanding of radiographic equipment in the context of how images are produced for both ionising and non-ionising radiation imaging methods and how images are appropriately shared and/or stored.
14. Knowledge of the application of different Imaging procedures and the associated risks/benefits and precautions/safety requirements.
