Role Description:

The trader will be responsible for actively participating in power trading, analysing electricity markets, utilising analytical skills to identify opportunities, engaging in proprietary trading, and responding to market fluctuations with precision and speed.

We are seeking an experienced Intraday Power Trader to join our team and trade the UK power markets. You will be responsible for managing short-term power positions, optimising trading strategies, and executing trades in the UK intraday and day-ahead markets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Trade UK power markets in intraday and day-ahead sessions.
2. Optimise positions based on market movements, weather forecasts, grid conditions, and fundamental analysis.
3. Develop and refine trading strategies using data-driven insights.
4. Monitor market developments and regulatory changes affecting UK power trading.
5. Collaborate with analysts and developers to enhance trading tools and algorithms.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in prop trading intraday/day ahead power (UK).
2. Strong knowledge of UK power market dynamics, pricing, and fundamentals.
3. Ability to make quick, data-backed trading decisions under pressure.
4. Proficiency with trading and data platforms (EPEX/Enappsys/LCP).
5. Analytical mindset with a passion for optimising trading strategies.
6. Experience with algorithmic/automated trading is a plus.
