Lead Copywriter: EMEA Content & Strategy Team

Columbia Threadneedle Investments is looking for a highly creative and strategic Lead Copywriter to join our EMEA marketing team. As a member of the larger Global Content & Creative team, this role works collaboratively with creative directors, designers, strategists, and content producers to support a portfolio of work within the EMEA business.

The ideal candidate has a background in copywriting and content development, with a track record of executing on strategies that align with business objectives. This writer can develop high-quality, consistent messaging that aligns with our global brand voice and work hand in hand with stakeholders on our leadership team to help guide and write narratives focused on the firm’s key offerings.

The ideal candidate would be a curious self-starter who has a firm grasp on B2B communication and marketing strategy.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate creative briefs and business goals into messaging that delivers on project objectives and supports strategy.
2. Uphold the brand voice; deliver consistent storytelling and brand messaging that align with firm guidelines.
3. Have a clear understanding of each specific audience and make recommendations that content being developed aligns with our brand voice, goals, and audiences.
4. Work seamlessly with other copywriters, designers, developers, and strategists to create a best-in-class experience.
5. Provide day-to-day responsibility of creative output, assuring quality, adherence to best practices, and brand compatibility.
6. Provide regular updates with stakeholders and key members of the leadership team.

Skills and Experience Needed:

1. Extensive experience delivering results in content strategy.
2. Experience in financial services, marketing/advertising agency, or another industry, working on complex, multi-channel, and regulated challenges.
3. Ability to build consensus and influence a successful content strategy approach by knowing when and how to use content (and when not to).
4. Project management skills, including the ability to manage schedules, deadlines, contributors, and stakeholders for multiple projects a plus.
5. Ideally, language skills in German preferred.
