About the team

Do you want to join a growing team of Digital Implementation Specialists? This position sits within the central marketing operations functions and will work right across the group, particularly the Product, Marketing and Data teams. Currently, the Marketing Operations is a team of 3 people and the team is expected to continue to grow and develop. This is a pivotal role within the business and is a highly collaborative environment working closely together to support Adaptavist on the Digital Implementation.

About the role

The role of the Digital Implementation Specialist is to provide technical expertise and knowledge sharing within the Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) environment. This role sits within the central Marketing Operations team and will work closely with the Business Units across the Group in order to coordinate activities between Product, Marketing and Data teams to ensure we have the right information to feedback on the usage of its websites and products to support continuous improvement of our products. The Senior Digital Implementation Specialist will lead the roadmap for tag implementation across The Adaptavist Group’s suite of websites and apps. They will be a subject matter expert and provide the business with clear guidance on the use of products required to track performance across product and marketing accurately. This will involve other products such as Segment. The role will be a focal point for excellence providing stakeholders with a point of contact for all future requirements and be able to challenge those requirements to provide stakeholders with the insights they require. The role will mentor other staff members around tracking requirements and use of tooling. The ideal candidate will have a passion for digital analytics and keep at the forefront of changes within the digital landscape including changes in google products as well as changes coming from cookie compliance and other regulatory changes. Working closely with the Marketing Data Analyst to deliver key projects this role will be able to understand marketing business objectives and engage with the Data & Analytics team to ensure the right data models are in place.

What you'll be doing

  1. Own the implementation road map for Google Tag Manager as new products and websites go live to support business decision making.
  2. Liaise with developers to oversee the use of the data layer.
  3. Provide specialised technical solutions for analytics and third party integrations.
  4. Mentor/ coach the wider team and key business stakeholders to understand the Google infrastructure and how to utilize the tools and datasets.
  5. Own & Lead on projects to deliver insights to the marketing and product teams.
  6. Support the team by owning and managing escalations.
  7. Coordinate Product, Marketing and Data team activities to ensure we have the best understanding of Product/Website Usage.
  8. Guide and oversee all front-end tracking implementation across multiple properties & channels to ensure optimal data pipeline performance at all times.
  9. Ability to explain Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Segment concepts, differences and measurement methodologies to stakeholders.
  10. Experience implementing complex multi-site web tracking using tag management tools such as Google Tag Manager.
  11. Compile tracking plans to document tag setup.
  12. Translate business requirements into project deliverables and work with the Data & Analytics team to action these.
  13. Setup sources and destinations for new web properties using Segment, as well as ensure tracking has been correctly implemented as per tracking plans.

What we're looking for

  1. Excellent knowledge implementing tags using Google Tag Manager.
  2. Experience using Javascript for implementation.
  3. Strong understanding and exposure to Google Analytics.
  4. Experience using Segment.
  5. Strong Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills in order to build and maintain relationships across a complex business environment supporting multiple lines of business.
  6. Enjoys Problem Solving, working on own initiative and self motivated.
  7. Drive to learn and improve technical and soft skills.
  8. Able to communicate technical solutions/issues to technical and non-technical colleagues.
  9. Patient, methodical and able to challenge in a constructive manner, providing evidence and engaging discussion to resolve issues.
  10. Strong understanding of audience measurement, funnel/journey analysis, customer data and how to bring them together to answer key business questions.
