The successful candidate will assist the Learning & Development team in implementing the firm’s international L&D strategy through a variety of learning interventions, building relationships (both internally and externally) and working closely with all members of the L&D and wider international HR team. You will be responsible for assisting the L&D Manager with the smooth running of the firm’s global Promotion Schools and Mandatory Training (compliance training) process.
This role forms part of the Learning & Development team who looks after firmwide L&D matters, led by the Head of Talent & Diversity. There are other four team members: two L&D Managers, Senior Training Lead and Training Coordinator.
What will you do:
- Provide co-ordination and logistical support for the firm’s global milestone L&D programmes including Promotion Schools and Future Leaders Programme.
- Coordinate the firmwide Mandatory Training processes to ensure required completion and compliance.
- Assist in managing the Firmwide Mentoring Programme.
- Work closely with TED@Work and support the integration of TED training videos across the firm, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Act as the firm’s Learning Management System (Workday) super-user.
- Opportunity to conduct research and help design and facilitate in-house sessions to support the business when required.
- Provide co-ordination support for L&D initiatives, including arranging and diarising training events, liaising with delegates and facilitators to answer queries and monitoring attendance.
- Build good relationships with global client groups to understand the needs of fee-earners and business support colleagues at different career levels, incorporating this information into the design of workshops / L&D projects.
- Work closely and build good relationships with external suppliers of the firm’s L&D activities.
- Provide suggestions to continue improving the existing L&D programmes.
- Work closely with the L&D team and key stakeholders to develop and implement learning solutions that will form part of the L&D strategy.
- Provide general administrative support as required by the L&D team, including processing invoices and monitoring L&D Outlook account.
What we are looking for:
- A strong interest in Learning & Development.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent is desirable but not a necessity.
- Good time management skills and able to effectively prioritise competing work demands/requests.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with confidence and ability to interact with Partners and staff at all levels of the firm.
- An international & commercially focused mind-set.
- A strong ‘client-service’ attitude; experience of working with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Willingness and aptitude to use software packages that are unfamiliar.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion as required.
