  • Preventative maintenance & electrical installations
  • Fault finding & troubleshooting
  • Work with cutting-edge equipment (PLCs, HV switchgear, electrical isolation, permitting - experience is a plus, but not required!)

Technical Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise on EC&I systems, ensuring plant safety and system availability.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and operations teams for maintenance planning.
  • Support and manage projects to ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness, and service.
  • Develop and manage the CMMS system for maintenance and operation.
  • Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota.
  • Manage EC&I contract requirements and day-to-day contractors.
  • Oversee plant monitoring and machine protection systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in EC&I systems.
  • Conduct minor installation and phased replacement work.
  • Maintain and update plant control systems.
  • Plan and deliver complex outages.
  • Procure materials and equipment within budget guidelines.
  • Manage inventory of critical spares.
  • Explore energy-saving opportunities to support net-zero goals.
  • Support the objectives of the electrical department and overall business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (BS7671 & BS6626).

Health & Safety Responsibilities

  • Ensure personal and team safety.
  • Report all accidents, near misses, and incidents.
  • Maintain electrical workshop and equipment.
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements.
  • Shut down processes when risks to people, environment, or plant arise.
  • Adjust plant parameters to maintain quality and performance.

Education & Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician/Technician (JIB ECS & IET Gold Card or higher).
  • PLCs, HV switchgear, electrical isolation, and permitting - preferred, not essential; training given.
  • Strong understanding of plant processes, utilities, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with electrical power distribution (110V-11kV).
  • Control systems (PLCs, relays, industrial communication networks).

Location: Purfleet

Salary: £50,000 Plus local Productivity bonus

Hours: 40
