Job Description

As a Waiter/Waitress, you play a key role in creating exceptional dining experiences by delivering attentive, friendly, and professional service. You will take orders, serve food and beverages with precision, and ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued. Your ability to anticipate guest needs, maintain a warm and engaging atmosphere, and uphold service standards will contribute to the overall success of the venue. A passion for hospitality, strong communication skills, and a polished, professional demeanor are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uniform Standards: Ensure correct uniform standards are maintained at all times.
  • Guest Experience: Deliver an enjoyable and expertly served beverage/dining experience by following the outlet's sequence of service.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of the restaurant menu and daily specials at all times.
  • Beverage Service: Be familiar with beverage service, including proper stemware usage and appropriate garnishes.
  • Guest Anticipation: Anticipate and proactively service guests' requirements at all times.
  • Outlet Preparation: Prepare the outlet for service according to standard operating procedures or specific managerial instructions.
  • Service Station Maintenance: Ensure service stations are continuously cleared and restocked during service.
  • Food & Beverage Service: Serve and clear food and beverage items in a discreet and professional manner.
  • Menu Presentation: Present menus and explain menu items, including daily specials, to guests.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Assess guest satisfaction, handle concerns, and inform management of any issues and resolutions.
  • Incident Reporting: Report all accidents or guest complaints immediately to a manager.
  • HACCP Compliance: Check expiration dates of perishable items daily and ensure proper storage in compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Emergency Response: Respond appropriately to any hotel emergency or safety situation.
  • Buffet & Station Breakdown: Assist in breaking down buffets, displays, or side stations as needed.
  • Training & Briefings: Attend all required briefings and training sessions as directed by the Operations Manager, Food & Beverage.
  • Payment Handling: Process cash and credit card transactions following the accounting department’s guidelines.
  • Problem Identification: Recognize potential issues and seek assistance before service breakdowns occur.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any duties or special projects assigned by management, whether within the department or across the resort.

Qualifications

  • Have completed secondary school education.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hospitality related Degree or Diploma.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a waiter/waitress in a five star hotel.
  • Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Advanced levels of Business English.
  • Excellent food & beverage knowledge.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in Fire & Life safety systems.
