FieldCore is looking for an exceptional Electrical Excitation Field Engineer to join our Field Operations team based in Europe.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As an Electrical Excitation Technical Field Advisor, you will be responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System and accountable for control of costs, quality control - preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts.

How you will make the difference
  1. Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
  2. Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures.
  3. Lead execution of retrofit projects, including Excitation systems (EX2100 EX2100e, LS2100, LS2100e and HMI products), Generator Protection Systems (GPP), and Power System Stabilization systems.
  4. Support warranty administration and troubleshooting issues.
  5. Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports.
  6. Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.
  7. Support the business growth initiatives.
  8. Trace through the software documentation.
  9. Implement control constant modifications.
  10. Reading and modifying software sequencing.
  11. Set up and modify the hardware and software associated with the Gas/Steam Turbine Excitation / LCI system.
  12. Implement excitation control system software changes.
  13. Provide Technical Direction for writing install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system. Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation.
Special Role Requirements
  1. Able to travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments.
  2. Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
  3. Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.
Skills for Success

You should be an experienced and competent Electrical Excitation Field Engineer having worked on successful installations and outages. You will also:

  1. Have the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.
  2. Be familiar with MS Office products and can learn other software tool applications to support HMI and application changes.
  3. Have the ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings as well as troubleshooting skills with a “Hands-on approach.”

A formal education and subsequent University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
