You will be mainly working from home, with the exception of site visits and key meetings. The office location can be discussed upon application to the role.

This newly created role is due to an increase in workload from continued development in the local area. The local authority is looking to bring in an experienced planner that can hit the ground running with minimal supervision. You will be required to work both individually and as part of a team to maintain the high level of service that the local authority currently operates.

To be successful in this position you MUST HAVE:

1. Be comfortable working from home and using Microsoft Teams/Zoom.
2. 10+ years of experience as a planning officer or senior planning officer.
3. Willingness to work fully remote for the first few months of the contract and then to visit the area for site visits every 2 to 3 weeks.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Dealing with minor, complex minor, and small major applications.
2. Assisting the head of planning and managers in meeting national and local development management targets.

On offer is an hourly rate of up to £45p/h for the right candidate.
