Days of Work: 5 days Monday to Saturday (working 5 over 6 days - must be able to work Saturday)

Job Purpose:

To ensure the speedy, efficient, and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities
  1. To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
  2. To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
  3. To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
  4. To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
  5. To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
  6. To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
  7. To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
  8. To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
  9. Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
  10. To help maintain good customer relations.
  11. To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
  12. Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Mandatory Requirements:

  1. Full UK manual driving licence
  2. No more than 3 live points on your driving licence
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  4. Excellent customer care
  5. One year's commercial driving experience within the last three years
  6. Must be able to work Saturdays
  7. Capable of bending and lifting in line with our Health and Safety regulations

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving is highly desirable
  2. Route planning experience
MANUAL HANDLING

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.

Job Details

Location: Chessington Service Centre KT9 1DH

Days of Work: 5 days Monday to Saturday (working 5 over 6 days - must be able to work Saturday)

Hours per Week: 44 hours basic plus overtime (approx. shift hr 0600 - 1830)

Salary: £32855.68
