Finance Officer

Voluntary Action Rotherham (VAR) is the lead body for supporting, developing and promoting the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in the Rotherham Borough. Our role is to facilitate effective action to bring about positive change in the lives of individuals and communities in the local area.

Position: Finance Officer

As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient management of the organisation's finances and accounting system. As well as providing financial support and contract administration to the wider VAR team, you will also provide support to VAR's payroll services.

The successful candidate must be able to work alone or as part of a small team and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including conveying financial information to non-financial colleagues clearly and concisely. A good understanding of financial systems and procedures is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple demands and a keen eye for detail. Experience of contract management, budget monitoring, and payroll would be advantageous but are not essential.

Location: Rotherham

Salary: £25,736 to £27,873 pay review pending (full-time equivalent)

Type of Contract: Part-time or full-time

Hours: 22.5 – 37 hours per week
