Your primary focus will be to write Liability risks within the Construction sector (predominantly for Roofers & Scaffolders). This is a sector where our client is flourishing (growing 20% year on year) and benefiting from a constantly growing number of broker enquiries. The company already writes a great deal of business in the South East and is looking to capitalize on opportunities within the regions.

Using your technical expertise, you will typically focus on writing new and renewal Liability risks with premiums averaging around £5,000. This is not a sales-style role as a wealth of enquiries are readily available. However, ideally, you will be able to bring new broker relationships to the company (or bolster existing ones) and promote Group products in the market, attending meetings either in person at brokers’ offices or virtually.

This is a remote-based role with a high degree of flexibility. However, you will be required to attend a regional office occasionally to meet colleagues. For those who live closer to a regional office, you are welcome to attend the office more regularly if desired.

It is essential that you have experience of underwriting Liability risks, along with strong negotiation skills. You’ll display a flexible, ‘hands-on’ approach to underwriting while generating good profit and healthy loss ratios across your account. You will also pride yourself on developing your technical skills, keeping abreast of industry developments and any changes to in-house or FCA regulations.
