The Role:

As a Senior Outpatients Nurse with us, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering outpatient nursing services to patients within the unit and to deputise for the Lead Outpatient Nurse where required. This is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact and develop your career.

What You'll Do:

1. Work in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service in Outpatients is planned, delivered, and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice.
2. Work closely with our multi-disciplinary team to help create and maintain a robust outpatient service whilst seamlessly incorporating other centre services such as diagnostic, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
3. Provide information and advice to patients who attend outpatients.
4. Provide support and information to patients who are diagnosed and receiving treatment for malignancies.

What You'll Have:

Experience and skills:

1. Proven ability to work effectively as a team player in a multidisciplinary setting.
2. Demonstrated excellent communication and organisational skills.
3. Significant clinical experience within Outpatients, including exposure to diagnostic procedures.
4. Evidence of service development and improvements to enhance patient care and experience.
5. Previous experience working with cancer patients in a clinical setting.
6. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the service, including shift work.
7. Strong ability to work accurately and reliably under pressure.
8. Confidence in decision-making, organising, and prioritising workloads to meet service demands.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

1. Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin.
2. Certified in Phlebotomy.
3. Immediate Life Support (ILS) trained.
4. Evidence of post-registration professional development (desirable).
5. Completion of an advanced communications course (desirable).
6. Completion of a counselling course (desirable).
7. Possession of a teaching qualification (desirable).
8. Proficiency in using common software packages and databases (essential).
