  1. Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
  2. Helping load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
  3. Demonstrating great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
  4. Installing products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrating how they work once installed.
  5. Keeping up to date with new products and technologies to help you perform your role at your best.
  6. Maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

  1. Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (you will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses).

Desirable skills/experience you may have

  1. Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
  2. Previous experience of the installation of white goods, building of furniture, or associated skills.

As our Customer Delivery Technician Porter, you will be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers’ homes.

This is a non-driver role and it is a great opportunity if you are looking to develop your career in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You'll complete a 26-week Porter training programme and, once completed, you'll be able to successfully install TV wall mounts, integrated appliances, and lighting installations in our customers' homes.

At the end of the 26 weeks, you will be assessed on the above elements to obtain your Technician Porter qualification. Varied hours of full-time work (41 hours per week) across seven days to include early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends.
