We have an AMAZING opportunity for a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential service in Spalding, Lincolnshire, supporting young people between Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

You will be committed, passionate and able to engage, encourage and mentor the young people, whilst having a whole lot of fun! Getting paid to play computer games, have movie nights & do arts and crafts.

Due to the nature of the job and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car.

Overview:
  • Title: Children's Residential Support Worker
  • Salary: £27,336 - £30,336 (sleep allowance included)
  • Location: Lincolnshire
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Shift Pattern: 1 on 2 off - 07.30 am - 11.00 pm/Sleep in /07.00 am - 11 pm

What you will be doing as a Children's Residential Support Worker:
  • To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individuals' care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting poor behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
The successful candidate:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or within a similar social care setting or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
  • MUST be a driver as you will be required to transport the young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21.
  • You MUST be an empathetic and relatable person, have good listening and communication skills, and a natural instinct to help others.
