Reporting to the Head of Risk Management and Business Area VP, the role of Project Risk Manager will work within Leonardo’s Electronic Warfare (EW) line of business. EW harnesses our decades of experience to provide intelligent protection both under the skin of the platform itself and in the surrounding environment to clear a ‘safe space’ for operations to take place.

The Project Risk Manager will be required to engage, support and influence Programme and Project Managers and their Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to ensure the effective identification, evaluation and treatment of Project Risks. This will involve overseeing and being a subject matter expert in Leonardo’s Project Risk Management Procedures, and developing an effective Risk Culture. The Project Risk Manager will co-ordinate and monitor risk inputs from the portfolio of programmes, assessing data sets, performing analysis and generating evidenced reports for senior management, enabling informed decision making associated with effective mitigation planning.

Key areas of Project Risk Management include (but are not limited to):

1. Identify and support appropriate Risk and Action Owners
2. Manage the identification of risks (Threats and Opportunities), using Leonardo’s Meta-Language
3. Manage the evaluation of Risk Exposure (Probability and Cost, Schedule and Performance Impact)
4. Advise on appropriate treatment strategies for risks, in line with Leonardo’s Risk Appetite Matrixes
5. Support development of treatment action plans, ensuring they are time bound
6. Work with Planners to ensure treatment actions and contingencies are costed into the schedule
7. Analyse the post treatment residual risk value using Monte Carlo analysis
8. Manage progress of treatment action plans
9. Support the contingency setting and management process, including compliant release of contingencies
10. Preparation of risk data for business area reviews and Corporate Reporting
11. Update and ensure the accuracy of the Risk Data within the Risk Register or System
12. Deliver scenario analysis and Risk Reporting to the portfolio management team, programme managers and other stakeholders as identified
13. Ensure the Project Classification is completed and maintained
14. Facilitate Monthly Risk Reviews
15. Support ad hoc requests from customers and/or Central Risk Function

Minimum Requirements:

1. Risk Management Experience within Projects and Programmes
2. Good organisational skills, demonstrated through ability to plan, prioritise and time manage
3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
4. Highly numerate with experience of estimating (Cost & Schedule) and financial modelling
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to challenge and present at Management level
7. Skilled in negotiating and influencing techniques
8. Ability to lead workshops and present technical details to large teams of people with confidence
9. Motivational and creative individual with the ability to deliver high levels of business and personal performance
10. Pro-active, dynamic individual with proven stakeholder management skills
11. High competency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
12. Understanding of Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies desirable
