IT Infrastructure Manager

We provide roughly 9,000 fantastic student homes in around 90 buildings across the UK to enable students (UK and International) to really make the most of their time at University. We want each of our students to love living with us and feel safe and secure in their home away from home.

Role Overview:

Oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability. Plan, implement, maintain, and manage hardware, software, networks, and cloud services. Provide 3rd Line support to IT Service Desk Analysts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure, including cloud-based services, networks, storage, and endpoints. Provide 3rd Line support to IT Service Desk Analysts.
2. Windows 10/11 Administration: Manage and support Windows 10/11 environments, ensuring regular updates, patch management, and optimal performance.
3. Microsoft 365 Administration: Administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Defender, and OneDrive, ensuring seamless integration and user support.
4. Oversee Azure/Entra services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Implement and manage Microsoft Intune for mobile device and application management.
5. Implement ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, change, and service management.
6. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures, conduct regular security assessments, and ensure compliance.
7. Lead and develop IT Service Desk Analysts, fostering a collaborative culture.
8. Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers for the best value and service quality.
9. Lead infrastructure-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
10. Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget for cost-effective solutions and efficient resource allocation.
11. Maintain comprehensive documentation and generate regular reports on infrastructure performance, security, and capacity planning.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications like MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, Azure/Entra, or Azure/Entra Solutions Architect Expert are a plus.
2. 5+ years of IT infrastructure management experience, focusing on Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, and Intune.
3. Proficiency in managing and supporting Windows 10/11 environments, extensive Microsoft 365 administration, in-depth Azure/Entra knowledge, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune for device management, ITIL processes, IT security principles, ticketing systems like FreshService or ServiceNow, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Proven leadership, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
5. Advanced Microsoft certifications like MCSE: Core Infrastructure or Microsoft Certified: Azure/Entra Solutions Architect Expert.
6. Experience with IT security frameworks and compliance like ISO 27001 or GDPR.
