Job description

Clarence George is working with a prestigious Bermuda-based reinsurer on an exciting Senior Investment Analyst opportunity. This candidate will sit within the investment team and play a key role in processes including external manager onboarding, portfolio analytics, capital markets assumption setting, and ad-hoc research projects.

Role:

  • Research new asset classes, due-diligence, and governance processes
  • Assist with shadow underwriting of credit and structured products deals and drafting deal opinions
  • Develop balance sheet portfolio analytics and asset allocation tools, as well as ALM models to ensure balance sheet risks are understood and quantified
  • Contribute to risk monitoring and management processes for the company’s key balance sheet risks, including interest rate, currency, and inflation
  • Assist with new business portfolio development

Profile:

  • 3 years’ + experience in an investment role
  • Experience with fixed income, derivatives, and alternative assets would be ideal
  • At least CFA II or 7 actuarial exams completed, with strong progression
  • Strong technical skills, with a particular focus on portfolio construction, optimisation, ALM, and risk modelling
  • Proficient Excel and Bloomberg skills
  • Working knowledge of insurance regulatory frameworks and annuities (individual/BPA business) is desirable
