Job Title: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Senior Lead

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Stability Lead to engage in the definition and implementation of future SRE strategy for Investment Banking technology (IB & AFCC). This role will also drive the understanding and remediation of ongoing technology stability challenges in the Global FIC Rates, Credit and Emerging Markets business, in conjunction with a project manager and technology colleagues. In addition, the role will also identify and drive operational and SDLC delivery improvements across the support and development teams, leveraging SRE and other best practices. Providing senior direction for major business impacting issues, when required, will also be an essential part of the success of the role. The role will be predominantly trade floor based, working directly with the business and local / regional technology teams and facing off to senior Business and Strat stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities

  1. Working with technology and business stakeholders to define proactive SRE principles and practices relevant to the current and future business and technical environments
  2. Working with a project manager and technology teams to build out a stability book of work, identifying where change is needed to enable a proactive SRE approach to managing the technology environment
  3. Engaging with the key issues and incidents to ensure that lessons are learned and that best practice is put in place to reduce the likelihood of failure, reduce mean time to recovery and identify potential issues in a timely manner
  4. Working with technology leads to identify where improvements can be made along the SDLC to improve quality and timeliness of delivery to production
  5. Ensuring the tracking and reporting of status to business and technology stakeholders

Your skills and experience

  1. Familiarity with operating large scale, real time and complex platforms, preferably in the banking sector
  2. Good understanding of the SRE approach and how this can be applied to business and technology problems, along with how to transition from more traditional operating paradigms
  3. Experience in working with or delivering systems for Pricing, Trade Capture, Electronic Trading, Risk Management aspects of Investment banking would be a key benefit
  4. Experience in software development from inception through to delivery and ongoing operational support
  5. Strong knowledge on technology & database concepts, SQL, APIs along with tooling and best practice
  6. Self-motivated and flexibility to work autonomously coupled with ability to work in virtual teams and matrix/global organizations including appreciation of different cultures during collaborating and sharing
