An Associate Director Sustainable Procurement is required to join a premium infrastructure and real estate advisory consultancy in London.

Employer’s services include Sustainable Procurement, Transformational Procurement, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.

The Associate Director Sustainable Procurement will be responsible for leading teams and programmes helping clients to meet their social and environmental targets. This includes orientating clients’ procurement operations, across multiple commissions, towards net zero and better environmental and social outcomes.

The successful candidate will make a sustainable impact on large-scale flagship projects, working with and managing an outstanding team of specialist procurement and sustainability consultants.

The Employer encourages and supports individuals to achieve MCIPS status for CIPS and regular Professional Development will be available to further skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide sustainable procurement management and insights across multiple projects and commissions, helping clients progress towards better environmental, social & economic outcomes.
  • Lead project teams and play an important role in large global transformation programmes.
  • Provide management, challenge, and guidance to colleagues as they work on client projects and commissions.
  • Identify, design, deliver, and continually improve clients’ environmental performance to meet targets across key sustainability themes.
  • Lead the development of the sustainable procurement services and propositions.
  • Play a leading role in the business generation of sustainable procurement opportunities for the employer.
  • Actively input and manage the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Implementation of Sustainable Procurement vision and objectives.
  • Sustainable Procurement insights and research.
  • Previous procurement consulting experience from either client, contractor, or professional services organisation.
  • Experience of embedding ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement) into procurement operations is desired but not essential.
  • Strong project team management ethos and ability to lead delivery and transformation programmes.
  • Experience of leading the development of client-facing eminence and propositions.
  • Strong understanding of wider ESG legislative and regulatory environments is desirable.
  • Experience of successful supplier engagement (as part of embedding sustainability).
  • Confident, independent, and able to work autonomously without supervision.
  • Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to team members.
  • Ability to manage work/business development/career development activities.
  • Adaptable approach to work.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
  • A degree related to Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or similar disciplines.
  • Has achieved, is working towards, or is willing to work towards at least Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
