Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team and work across primary schools in Castleford and the surrounding areas. As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching staff, enhancing student learning, and contributing to the overall school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering planned lessons and educational activities in the absence of the class teacher.
  2. Supporting the development of students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
  3. Assisting with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  4. Working with small groups or individual students to provide targeted support.
  5. Assisting in the assessment and tracking of student progress.
  6. Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop and deliver engaging learning experiences.
  7. Providing feedback to teachers and participating in staff meetings and training sessions.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant or similar role.
  2. Relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  3. Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in various educational settings.
  7. A genuine passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
  8. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
