The Role

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to take their first step into the world of insurance and help drive new business growth for our company.

As part of our team in Financial Lines, you'll have the chance to support your colleagues in delivering the quality service our clients expect from us at Howden. From handling new business applications to managing renewals and mid-term changes, you'll ensure that each customer's needs are met with the perfect coverage and pricing. Responsibilities

  1. Works with senior members of the team to ensure Team objectives are achieved.
  2. Participates in team meetings as required.
  3. Works alongside team members on assigned projects.
  4. Drafts client quotation documents.
  5. Prepares market submissions.
  6. Assists in responses to market and third-party queries as appropriate.
  7. Drafts slip and wordings.
  8. Takes responsibility for data entry, processes debit notes, and chases funds from clients.
  9. Works within agreed parameters and uses relevant systems to ensure documentation/communications adhere to company procedure/compliance requirements and provide an adequate audit trail.
  10. Processes data promptly and accurately on relevant systems to support and improve high levels of client service/internal process execution and to facilitate informed analysis.
  11. Maintains appropriate client files, and oversees the prompt and accurate production of documentation to meet client, company, and regulatory requirements.
  12. Ensures appropriate due diligence/sanctions checks are conducted in line with company procedures.
  13. Adheres to company policies and procedures and obtains all authorisation.
  14. Actively undertakes personal development to ensure up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practice.
  15. Undertakes all compulsory regulatory training modules.

Requirements

  1. A determination and willingness to learn about insurance process and the London market.
  2. Ability to work well as part of an open and collaborative team.
  3. Organised with attention to detail.
  4. This is an entry-level role so Insurance knowledge is not required and training will be provided; however, it would be helpful if they have some knowledge of what the role entails.
  5. Confidence to work with others and provide a supporting role to the team.
  6. Advanced Excel and computer literate skills in basic software (i.e. Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.).
