Machine Operator – Food Production & Robotic Machinery

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our food production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in operating production machinery within a food processing environment and familiarity with robotic machinery. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor production machinery: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot food production machines to ensure efficient operation.
Robotic machinery operation: Utilize and maintain robotic systems involved in the production process, including loading, unloading, and programming basic commands.
Quality control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that products meet company and industry standards. Identify and report deviations or machine malfunctions promptly.
Maintenance and troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and robotic equipment to reduce downtime. Assist the maintenance team with repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
Safety and compliance: Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and food production hygiene standards, including GMP, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
Documentation and reporting: Record production data, machine performance, and maintenance logs. Report machine issues and production concerns to the supervisor.
Efficiency optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with the team to optimise production output and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a machine operator in a food production environment, with at least 1 year working with robotic machinery.
Technical skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting production equipment and robotic machinery. Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems is a plus.
Attention to detail: Strong focus on product quality and adherence to safety standards.
Physical requirements: Ability to lift, stand for long periods, and work in varying temperature conditions typical of a food production environment.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or certifications in machine operation or robotics is preferred.
Problem-solving: Demonstrated ability to identify issues, troubleshoot effectively, and maintain equipment.
