Job description

We have a vacancy for a Parts Manager at our busy Grantham depot.

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for maximising the Parts Department's profitable sales in line with the company’s objectives.
  • Responsible for the appropriate processes to ensure accurate goods in and out, stock management, invoicing and sales to both external and internal customers.
  • Responsible for the organisation of the depot showroom to ensure the effective selling and influencing of customer buying decisions in order to maximise profitability.
  • To deliver a first class customer experience by having detailed product knowledge, following an effective sales process and displaying excellent customer relationship skills.

Job Description:

  • Monitor the Depot Parts Departments performance relative to parts turnover, stock management and expense control, in line with the company’s objectives.
  • Maximises the use of all order discount programmes to achieve management stock order goals and submits all parts warranty and return claims within the required time-frame.
  • Ensures the maintenance of the Depot Parts Department equipment and facilities.
  • Works closely with the Depot Salesman and Service Manager to ensure maximum business efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures efficient goods in/out processing and accurate stock management.
  • Ensures viable and realistic stock levels of goods at all times.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of customer satisfaction, including supporting the Customer Care Process, to maximise scoring on customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Promotes and sells parts and/or services to meet customer needs.
  • Takes responsibility for resolution of disputes/issues, seeing them through to conclusion.
  • Ensures effective maintenance of stores management, invoicing and other administration tasks, with emphasis on falling within the Groups Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensures that the Depot Parts stores area is kept clean, tidy and well organised.
  • Ensures the Depot showroom is presentable at all times by ensuring it is clean and tidy.
  • Ensures merchandise displays are in accordance with seasonal and specific sales campaigns.
  • Actively support customer clinics, field days and other promotional or customer events.
  • Supports the efficient running of the Service Department by ensuring parts are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To ensure the Depot Parts Department operates within the company’s business code specifically in the areas of health and safety, staff appearance and behaviours along with ensuring employment terms and conditions are adhered to.
  • Supports and engages in all adhoc Group and Depot projects and/or events.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Able to cover the core hours of 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-midday on Saturdays along with the ability to work extended hours during peak seasonal periods, along with provide cover at other Depots as and when required.
  • Proficient user of the IBCOS GOLD system.
  • Ability to produce, analyse and interpret internal and external reports and data.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Ability to deal with customer enquiries by telephone, face to face and email etc.
  • Exhibits a positive can do attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Upto date knowledge of all franchise products/parts.
  • Knowledge of agricultural equipment and the Agricultural Industry.
  • Familiar with competitor products and activities.
  • Good understanding of Sales and Marketing principles.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
