Cost Consultant, Bids / Commercial Framework Manager -BID

Description

Due to continued commercial success and growth, we are seeking to appoint a professional to provide support to our bidding and commercial teams on a full or part time role reporting to the Commercial Director. This person should have a proven experience in understanding and working in a multidisciplinary office environment on a variety of construction projects and client appointments. Given the introduction of AI and the likely revolution in working practices the candidate should be excited at the chance to match their experience with new ways of working and challenges.

The ideal candidate could have a background as CCS / SBS etc framework director, with an industry background in Cost Consultancy, Engineering or Project Management and be familiar with public procurement and framework management related to Professional Services Consultancy.


Key Responsibilities

  • High proficiency in the use of Excel to develop pricing models to reflect client ITT requirements.
  • Disciplined approach to consistently develop fee proposals applying company agreed approach and framework rates.
  • Awareness of Consultant appointments under JCT, NEC3 & 4 contracts and able to liaise with Company legal team regarding common issues ie limits of liability, PI insurance etc.
  • Capability to scope requirements for specialist services and secure subcontractor prices for bids (Fire, acoustics, planning, highways engineer etc).
  • As a personal attribute to be a team player and to have good communication skills.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Good understanding of:

  • RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Scopes of work for core disciplines under normal procurement routes (D&B, 2SD&B, & Traditional).
  • Bidding strategies: which markets, locations, partners etc.
  • Bid writing (by others but aware of processes needed to produce winning bid).
  • Fee levels for individual disciplines and whole teams for a range of projects.
