Are you looking for a new and exciting position to support patient pathways and clinical excellence?

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and forward-thinking Specialist Dental Nurse to join the dental nursing team at Sandwell Community Dental Services.

Working Details:
7.5 hours / 0.2 WTE / Working days to be Thursday. Based in the Sandwell locality at the Lyng Health Centre.

Qualifications Required:
The post-holder must hold a post-registration qualification, certificate or equivalent in Dental Radiography and provide evidence of continual professional development, where relevant.

The post holder must be flexible as travel to other sites/locations within the division may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the clinical management of the dental specialty and ensure the provision of a high standard of patient care and adherence to all Trust policies and procedures.
2. Deliver high-quality clinical nursing support across Dental Services Division clinical sites to meet the complex needs of patients.
3. Educate and develop clinical teams, including undergraduate students, postgraduate, qualified dental nurses, and dental nurse apprentices.
4. Maintain a high standard of patient care and confidentiality within all dental clinics throughout the service.
5. Manage stock control/rotation and order dental consumables as required.
6. Prepare and maintain specialised dental equipment and dispose of clinical waste appropriately.
7. Support recording of patient pre-operative assessments (e.g., height, weight, and blood pressure).
8. Provide clinical nursing support for radiography within the department.
9. Identify staff & students needing additional training within the specialty and escalate as appropriate.
10. Adhere to procedures to support and maintain achieving national targets of compliance.
11. Implement agreed local Divisional and Trust Policies.
12. Implement outcomes in respect of Clinical Governance & Quality Improvement relating to the specialty.

Person Specification:

Education:

• Dental Nursing Qualification
• Post Qualification in Conscious Sedation IV/IHS
• GDC Registration

Experience:

• Experience in Specialism
• Significant Experience in a wide range of dentistry
• Evidence of CPD

Skills & Knowledge:

• Understanding of clinical stock management
• Ability to lead a team in a clinical environment
• Experience in dealing with complex situations (e.g., patient complaints/concerns)
• Adaptable and responsive to change
