Financial Controller

Totum Partners are delighted to be working with a leading international law firm to recruit a newly created Financial Controller position. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will be pivotal in managing the firm's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to drive growth. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The Financial Controller will play a key role in overseeing the firm's financial operations, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic financial planning. They will be responsible for preparing and managing annual financial statements, leading audits, and maintaining accounting policies. Supporting the Finance Director, they will contribute to long-term financial strategies, provide insights for mergers and acquisitions, and assist with new office integrations. The role also involves enhancing financial systems and processes, overseeing payroll, tax, and partnership matters, managing treasury functions, and supporting budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, the Financial Controller will collaborate with key stakeholders across the firm, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and contributing to the firm's continued growth.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
3. Strong understanding of UK GAAP.
4. Knowledge of overseas accounting standards and financial systems, particularly Elite 3E, is desirable.
5. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Proactive, results-oriented approach to problem-solving and financial management.
