Job description

Lucky Saint – Senior National Account Manager (Off Trade / Grocery)

Reporting to: Head of Grocery, UK & Ireland

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior National Account Manager to join the team at Lucky Saint as we continue our mission to become the defining alcohol-free beer. In this role, you will be supporting the UK & Ireland Head of Grocery to deliver against the Lucky Saint Off Trade strategy.

We are a team who passionately care about the brand and maintaining exceptionally high standards at all touch points of the business. We are interested in people who want to spearhead a revolution in the industry with us, who are curious, entrepreneurial, commercial, and restless to make magic happen.

Our founder, Luke Boase, launched Lucky Saint in late 2018 with an ambition to change the perception of alcohol-free beer and the drinking experience, worldwide. Since the launch of our 0.5% Superior Unfiltered Lager, Lucky Saint has received widespread attention from top industry professionals, the UK’s best operators, and the media.

A day in the life in this role:

The brilliant and thrilling part of Lucky Saint is that no day is the same. You’ll have a balance of internal meetings, like our weekly company-wide meeting; catch ups with our team and cross functions, such as trade marketing, finance and supply & ops; as well as time to analyse numbers, adjust forecasts and manage investment. Beyond the admin, you’ll deliver clear and consistent communication with retailers. This will involve keeping them updated on any opportunities from their side while bringing great ideas and activation plans to them as already agreed in our JBPs or as part of driving growth via ad hoc trading plans. You will feedback any updates internally in real time to generously keep the team and cross functions looped in so they can apply these updates on their side. You’ll be operating with a high degree of autonomy which means that while your line manager is always available for support, guidance, and collaboration, you feel the freedom to make decisions at speed that always drive sustainable growth for Lucky Saint. Beyond this, you spend your time supporting your Off-Trade team and wider cross functions who are keen to learn from your insight and experience to help themselves develop.

Salary Range: £55k-£60k base salary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the P&L for your customers
  • Meet and where possible exceed our performance objectives
  • Grow category share
  • Manage some of our top retailers in the grocery and select key strategic convenience channel accounts
  • Build and agree JBPs that excite and answer the needs of our retailers and deliver sustainable growth for Lucky Saint
  • Open up exciting new customers within the Off Trade channel
  • Ownership of customer P&Ls where you deliver an accurate forecast and manage customer investment to achieve highest ROI
  • Establish and continue to grow relationships with our key retailers
  • Create and maintain long term, sustainable relationships with customers and internal functions including regular in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Build a stakeholder network within your national account network to work more effectively and maximise your results

  • Continually develop your understanding of the beer and non-alcoholic beverage category
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to contribute valuable insights and support into channel marketing and customer needs
  • Regularly conduct store visits and report back findings to the business to shape strategy, trade marketing and activations

  • Communicate clearly with the Lucky Saint team using data and insight
  • Support the UK & Ireland Head of Grocery with preparing pitches for new retail opportunities.

Who you are: it would be great if you have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Grocery / Off Trade including direct management of a Top 4 UK supermarket (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrison’s)
  • A strong track record of delivering commercial success
  • Fantastic presentation skills
  • Adept at creating clear and succinct customer decks and delivering them effectively
  • Proficient analytical skills
  • You thrive as part of a team
  • You take initiative to step beyond your role when needed to drive overall business success and foster a generous culture.
  • Confident using category and performance data to gain insight, report back findings and improve future shared performance.
  • Ambitious, driven, and can thrive in a very fast-paced, high growth business within a fast-growing category.
  • A growth mindset, you bring innovative ideas and ways of thinking to the business
