This new opportunity has arisen following the promotion of the current incumbent. Working in to the Head of Customer Billing, you will work in a small team of three Billing Specialists.

We are looking for an individual who can act as a coach and mentor to the Billing Officers, who will lead from the front in raising invoices, credit notes, and ensuring the correct customer line is input. Excel skills are very important, and we would see you as an expert in Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.

About the role:

To ensure prompt billing and increase the profile of the billing team whilst establishing close working relationships with the Sales and Sales Administration teams. The successful candidate will have the experience to fulfil a substantial amount of the job description immediately, and we are particularly looking for an energetic person with strong communication, an eye for detail, and interpersonal skills who can demonstrate the potential to develop into a senior line management position.

Main Duties:

• Take overall responsibility for weekly patient billing, embassy billing, and any other ad hoc billing as required by the Head of Customer Billing.
• Solely responsible for insurance billing, daily health-code billing, and resolving rejections from insurance companies. This includes contacting practices and patients for missing billing information.
• Manage the billing inbox (for example, assisting with changing existing processes, providing cover for staff absences, and catching up on backlogs).
• Assist the Head of Customer Billing with managing the billing assistants and cashier. Assist the billing team with raising invoices and credit notes as required by the Sales and Marketing Team or Head of Customer Billing.
• Support the Head of Customer Billing in delivering the team’s objectives through demonstrating an understanding of the relevance of key tasks and how they impact on targets and KPIs.
• Assist in the allocation of payments and the reconciliation of customer accounts.
• Assist the wider credit control team when necessary (for example, handling telephone queries and enquiries from practices, insurance companies, and individuals). Act as an escalation point for billing queries from the credit control team and support the team in resolving queries or dealing with difficult customers. Escalate any issues on a timely basis to management.
• Establish a professional working relationship with the Credit Control Supervisors to identify where existing processes can be improved and assist with the implementation of changed processes.
• Establish and manage professional relationships with insurance companies and embassies.
