Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand new service for West Yorkshire & Barnsley delivering inpatient services to people with a learning disability. Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust & South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have come together to provide specialist inpatient services. The post holder will be based within the Multi-disciplinary Team either at Fieldhead Hospital (Wakefield) or Lynfield Mount Hospital (Bradford). There is an expectation that therapists will contribute to service development, training & supervision on both sites.

Our ambition is to create a West Yorkshire Centre of Excellence across these two units, providing great support for people through a truly collaborative partnership approach that benefits those in need of specialist inpatient care. We aspire to make this a great place to work & to do that, we need you!

We are looking for kind, enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, and motivated people who really want to make a difference to people’s lives, & who can also help us realise our ambitions to serve the people living across West Yorkshire and Barnsley, so that they can access high quality, specialised care as close to home as possible.

We have vacancies for enthusiastic & passionate Senior Health Care Support Workers to join the team. The post will be held at agenda for change band 3, and applicants need to hold a minimum of an NVQ 2 in care. Training can be given to reach an NVQ level 3 along with other opportunities to progress their professional development. Full-time working is preferred, but consideration would be given to those seeking part-time hours.

Our aim is to create a culture of continuous improvement, inclusivity & trust. We encourage and celebrate diversity, and welcome candidates who reflect the communities we support.

A friendly service where we promote work-life balance, flexible working, and local recognition awards for a great job done, which meets the needs of people. We aim to offer as much flexibility as we can whether that’s job share, part-time or other work patterns. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds, including candidates from ethnic minority communities who can deliver culturally sensitive services and people who are disabled and are currently under-represented throughout our services. We love talent and we would love the opportunity to talk to you and hear about yours.

We have made a positive commitment to employing people with a disability and guarantee to interview all candidates who meet the minimum essential criteria for the role as set out in role profiles.

Everything we do is underpinned by our core values:

  1. We Care - We act with respect and empathy, and always value difference
  2. We Listen - We understand people’s views and respond to their individual needs
  3. We Deliver - We develop and provide excellent services and support our partners

We will consider a variety of flexible working arrangements to enable staff to balance their work & home lives and support staff by offering a fantastic range of benefits including:

  1. Increased mileage rates for > 3500
  2. A wide range of health & wellbeing support packages
  3. A range of internal & external development and learning opportunities

We are also proud to pledge our support to the Armed Forces & hold a Bronze Award in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

BDCFT is dedicated to environmental & social sustainability by delivering on the commitments within our Green Plan. All staff are actively encouraged & supported to participate in training & to identify & implement sustainable quality improvement across all service areas and activities.

Please note that the Trust reserves the right to close the vacancy before the closing date if a sufficient number of applications are received. It is in the candidate’s best interest to apply as soon as possible.
